Wazifa is to be read every day, however, on Fridays people gather at the Zawiya to take part in the group Wazifa which is recited before or after the Maghreb salah.
Every event has blessed time which is preferred over other times. Ramadan is a blessed month of the year, Arafat is a blessed day amongst days, Tahajjud is a blessed time of prayer amongst times to pray. Jumuah is a blessed day of the week and scholars have mentioned that on Friday between Asr and maghrib duas are answered, Haylalah is performed during this time. Dhikr is a very powerful and simple way to worship Allah (swt) especially when we have a lack of time.
With the lights dimmed, the congregation sits in reflection, intentionally calling on the name of Allah. All actions begin with a niya, and the Niya of the wazifa is to draw close to Allah and His Prophet (pbuh), as in the statement Allah has not created creation except to know and worship Him.
A pure white cloth is placed on the floor and the Muqaddam leads the Wazifa. This consists of four parts of varying length. In total it lasts approximately half an hour. Beginning with asking for forgiveness, it leads on to Salatwat of the Prophet - salatul Fatih, then La ilaha illa Allah and ends with Jawharatul Kamal and closing Duas.
During Wazifa, the people remain seated attentively and refrain from talking, eating or drinking, similarly to being in the state of salah.
Darul fayda Wazifa was set up with the permission of Imam Sheikh Tijani of Senegal in 2010. The congregation meet on Fridays at the O2 centre in Finchley Road, North-West London from 8pm to 10pm.
